Canoe Trip

Well I just made reservations for our Canoe Trip. We are going to be using Saco Bound for our rentals. It's going to be a 2 day overnight trip with about 12 miles of canoeing on Saturday and another 10 on Sunday. The cost of the trip is $52 per person. This includes everything but food and beverages. Expedition Team: 8 Canoes
Myself, Pete, Chris, Robbie, Headley, Taylor, Nick, James, Hayes, Kara, Zags, Rachael, Paul, Kristin, Scott, and Ashley.

Things you need to bring:
Food, beverages, sleeping bag. We also need tents if anyone has them. Let me know if you can provide any.


Saturday July 22nd
5:45 AM - Depart from Beverly
5:46 AM - Pete takes shirt off
9:00 AM - Push off into Saco River
12:00 PM - Lunch
5:00 PM - Find a suitable patch of land, setup camp for the night, play some bocci ball or horseshoes, and catch some fish for dinner.

Sunday July 23rd
9:00 AM - Push off for 2nd leg of trip.
3 or 4 PM - Arrive at landing point and get shuttled back to our cars.

It's 2.5 hours north, so unfortunately yes. A little red bull and some white water will do good to wake people up. Also, I guess there are three parts of the river that we need to take the canoes out and walk them for a bit. There are 2 dams and 1 set of rapids that can, "shatter the canoes". Hopefully someone will be sober enough to realize that we are approaching these obstacles. If not, at least we'll go out in a blaze of glory. Is anyone good at reading river maps?

I can totally see Tom and Paul doing this. Getting tough on the river and heading into unforeseen danger. Good thing we have a crack river man in hayes murray with us.
